Scotland-Edinburgh- Day 1

When we get to a new city, we usually start out by taking the hop-on, hop-off bus tour. I know it is super touristy, but it helps us gain an understanding of the layout of the city and also acts as our transportation for Day 1.

Bella was all bundled up and ready to conquer the city.  Our first stop: Starbucks.

Our first stop was the Museum of Childhood which was a museum full of toys from past to present.  We thought Bella might enjoy it.

She found this antique rocking horse.

My girl is a car lover!  She would have played with this simple car garage the whole time if we let her.

Her favorite part of the whole museum was in the gift store.  She wanted a pull-back car.  She had to try it out first.

This was outside of the new Scottish Parliament building.  It was extremely modern.

We debated whether or not to go to this Dynamic Earth experience because we thought it might be too boring for Bella's age group.    It took you through all of the changes that our Earth has gone through since existence.  I have to admit that it was quite intense, but she did like some parts of it.

This was a part that showed how what it was like in the Ice Age.  This was an actual iceberg in the middle of the room.

At the end of day one, we relaxed in our flat.  Bella and Nana put together her new Easter puzzle.

Scotland Here We Come!

This year we didn't plan on going anywhere for Spring Break. Towards the last minute, we decided we'd take a road trip to Scotland. My mom had really wanted to go and we had never been there so it was a perfect idea.

We took a scenic route through the hills on the way up.  It was a rainy day so these pictures do not do it any justice, but it was breathtaking.  Bella watched and pointed out sheep along the way.  There were THOUSANDS.

We rented a fabulous flat.  It was so roomy and a perfect place to relax at the end of each day.  Bella loved running throughout the whole place.  Here was our awesome kitchen.
